In this course we learn the skills and concepts needed for religious studies. Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam are the specific world religious that we study. Particular emphasis is given to the role of religion in defending human dignity.- What are some of the ways a person can interpret texts from ancient times? How is the bible understood by different groups of people who take it as a religiously authoritative text? Is there a role for non-religious biblical study? Is there a conflict between science and the bible?
